Overview
The programme provides the basic knowledge in the different sectors of biotechnology and the cultural and technological skills to produce goods and services through the analysis and use of biological systems, their parts or their derivatives; for this reasons the student also addresses the bioethical issues and the biotechnological regulations. Theoretical and multimedia lessons are flanked by laboratory activities. To achieve the qualification, at the end of the third year the student must, under the guidance of a tutor, write a thesis.
The degree programme includes training activities that refer to the areas of industrial, agri-food, environmental, pharmaceutical, medical and veterinary biotechnologies.
Career opportunities
Graduates will be able to work in companies of the biotechnological sector, in chemical, pharmaceutical and agri-food industries, in the health and veterinary sectors, in public and private research and diagnostic centers, in public and private consortia for environment protection, and in scientific communication.
